Landi Renzo develops Dual Fuel technology for Ecoè (Umbria Mobilità) public buses

Landi Renzo has developed an innovative Duel Fuel system for Ecoè – a subsidiary of Umbria Mobilità – for public buses in the Perugia area: a duel diesel/methane fuel system to reduce harmful emissions and cut running costs.

The innovative “dual fuel” system will make it possible for diesel buses to run on both diesel and methane fuel, cutting both polluting emissions and running costs.

Landi Renzo's system mixes methane with diesel, the fuel still used by the majority of public transport fleets in Italian cities, to cut costs and pollution while guaranteeing similar driving performance to full diesel.

The system improves the fuel efficiency of these buses and offers major savings on fuel costs while permitting the driver to return to full diesel operation at any time.

The initiative is part of an important project Landi Renzi has underway to promote awareness of the importance of sustainable mobility in the local governments of Italy's biggest cities.
