LANDIRENZO OMEGAS DIRECT

LPG system for direct injection engines

The LANDIRENZO OMEGAS DIRECT system represents a new evolution of the conventional sequential natural gas system: it was designed for conversion of direct injection engines to LPG, an increasingly popular fuel.

The LANDIRENZO LPG system cuts polluting emissions, helping to improve air quality and guaranteeing compliance with increasingly strict environmental standards.

Advanced technology permits the Omegas Direct system to guarantee high performance while preserving the engine over the years. The latest generation injector rail is safe because it guarantees accurate fuel dosage to optimise combustion.

The Omegas Direct LPG system interacts with the petrol system and offers OBDII connectivity via the K and CAN protocols for advanced gas system diagnostics.

Omegas Direct is available in several different versions to adapt to vehicles with different cubic capacities, including turbo engines.

How to recognize a direct injection car?

The engines of the direct injection cars differ from the others because their fuel system allows to enter the fuel directly into the combustion chamber.
This results in greater engine efficiency.

To identify the direct injection cars the manufacturers have adopted abbreviations in the names of the engines.

Each constructor adopts particular acronyms, for example:

  • GDI
  • TFSI
  • JTS
  • FSI
  • TSI
Example of positioning the abbreviation on the motor body:

Why convert it to LPG?

Converting your car to LPG direct injection is valuable for many reasons:

* The savings % varies depending on the type of route, the cost of fuel and the model of the vehicle.

How the system works

OMEGAS DIRECT

Components

OMEGAS DIRECT

The LANDIRENZO OMEGAS DIRECT electronic control unit is designed to suit the particular requirements of direct injection engines and to guarantee regular cleaning and protection of injectors, which inject small quantities of petrol in alternating cycles even when the vehicle is running on gas. These cycles result in minimal petrol consumption, are optimised by the system and are not perceived by the driver.

OMEGAS DIRECT permits connection with the vehicle's OBDII (On Board Diagnostic II), dialoguing with the petrol control unit via CAN or K line to prevent malfunctioning. The diagnostics function also checks the connection of the petrol injectors and the functioning of individual gas injectors.

LI10

Components

LI10

The LI10 is a single-stage positive pressure reducer for sequential LPG systems, with a safety valve, a solenoid valve and built-in filters. Its excellent heat exchange ratio makes it reliable even at the lowest temperatures. Moreover, the features of the materials used and the layout guarantee outstanding dependability on aspirated and turbo engines.

GIRS12

Components

GIRS12

GIRS12 injector rails are designed and tested to guarantee very high performance and precision delivering fuel. Small size makes them easily adaptable to fit the engine compartment, and they are particularly strong and silent.

They guarantee very good hold even under extreme conditions with a IP6K9K connector.

Its 4 sizes makes it suitable for the requirements of engines of different levels of performance and different sizes (2-3-4 cylinders).

Square Switch

Components

Square Switch

Square electronic control unit; functions include:

  • gas/petrol switch and indicator of fuel in use with two leds
  • display of the quantity of gas in the tank with 5 leds.

Switch with an adjustable buzzer that sounds under the following conditions: switch back to petrol due to low pressure, switch back to petrol due to diagnosis.

Multivalve and filling point

Components

Multivalve and filling point

The multivalve is a mechanical device required to store LPG properly inside the tank.

In compliance with European Regulations ECE 67R-01, LANDIRENZO Multivalves are equipped with a pressure relief valve, a temperature relief valve, an excess flow valve, a non-return valve and a shut-off solenoid valve.

The multivalves are extremely accurate in shutting off fuel supply automatically at 80% of the total tank capacity, as prescribed by the Regulations.

All the multivalves are set up for installation of an electronic level indicator.

The external filling point, fitted with a non-return valve, permits LPG refuelling the world over.

LPG tank

Components

LPG tank

Landi Renzo offers various types of LPG tanks, selected based on strict safety criteria, in line with the highest standards of car manufacturers, and meeting the needs of most vehicles. Doughnut shaped tanks are housed in the place of the spare tyre. Cylindrical models, instead, are installed either in the boot or externally.

Both types of tank come in different sizes and capacities.

For safety reasons, LPG cylinders can only be filled to 80% capacity; this level is detected by the multivalve.
