System NATURAL GAS MIXER LANDIRENZO conversion system

LANDIRENZO NATURAL GAS MIXER

conversion system

The rise to popularity of traditional natural gas conversion systems has made the Landi Renzo brand famous all over the world as a pioneer in gas conversion systems.

LANDIRENZO natural gas conversion systems with mixers may be installed on carburettor vehicles and on electronic injection vehicles with and without catalysers.

The systems are designed for conversion to natural gas of vehicles in emissions classes up to Euro 3.

Ongoing evolution of system components has helped ensure the perfect balance of efficiency and quality.

How the system works

LC01

Components

LC01

LC01 is an electronic system that manages carburetion in traditional (LPG or natural gas) systems with mixer for vehicles equipped with a lambda probe. The LC01 ECU ensures the optimal air/gas ratio by means of the actuator control, which meters the flow of gas from the pressure regulator to the mixer, located on the intake manifold (continuous regulation of the gas flow). It requires no manual adjustments, and automatically adapts to different environmental and vehicle usage conditions.

TN1

Components

TN1

The TN1 is a 3 stage reducer permitting stability at both high and low pressures, fitted with a high pressure solenoid valve upstream of the first stage. Absorption of heat taken from reducer elements heated with fluid from the engine's cooling circuit prevents natural gas from freezing when the pressure drops. The gas flow necessary to main minimum engine speed when pressure is low is activated via the same gas duct as the main flow. Includes an electronic starting device incorporating a safety system that acts by closing the gas solenoid if the engine shuts down, even accidentally.

Calibrated for an incoming pressure of 220 bar and adjustment at 4 bar (1st stage) and 1.5 bar (4th stage), it is suitable for vehicles with catalyser, injection, carburettor and turbo engines.

Gas solenoid valves in the event that the engine should shut down, even accidentally.

Square Switch

Components

Square Switch

Square electronic control unit; functions include:

  • gas/petrol switch and indicator of fuel in use with two leds
  • display of the quantity of gas in the tank with 5 leds.

Switch with an adjustable buzzer that sounds under the following conditions: switch back to petrol due to low pressure, switch back to petrol due to diagnosis.

Filling valve

Components

Filling valve

The filling valve is usually installed in the engine compartment, but can sometimes be positioned inside the petrol cap door.

It includes connection to the refuelling system and a manual ball valve that opens and shuts off gas supply.

Natural Gas tank

Components

Natural Gas tank

CNG tanks store natural gas at a high pressure. They are cylindrical in shape, and can be installed both inside and outside the boot. They come in different diameters, sizes and capacities.

Depending on the legislation of the market for which they are intended, they come with additional safety devices, such as an excess flow valve (which shuts off or restricts gas leaks in the event of a broken pipe) or systems that releases gas externally upon reaching a specific temperature or pressure. Further safety devices include manual shut-off valves, automatic shut-off solenoid valves, rupture disks and non-return valves.
